LEGO, Build a World of Play Challenge

   - For the LEGO ® brand’s 90th anniversary we’re making a commitment to the world’s youngest children

     by giving out grants worth 900 million Danish Kroner to give them the best start in life

○ 공모주제

   - We’re after bold, transformational ideas that focus on young children’s wellbeing and holistic development,

     while addressing global social issues. To be in with a chance of a grant,

     your ideas will be impactful, feasible, community-centred, and sustainable.

    What could that look like? Here are some ideas to spark (but not limit) your thinking:

     · Do you have tech innovations that will improve the quality and access of healthcare for families with young children?

     · Do you have plans to make cities safer, greener, more sustainable, more playful,

       and more accessible places for all children to live, grow, and thrive?

     · Do you have innovative ideas for reducing stress amongst caregivers and childcare providers, so they build stronger,

       safer, and more nurturing relationships with the young children they care for

     · Do you have plans to increase the resiliency and adaptivity of systems, institutions and services to better reach and

       support young children, families and households amidst disruptive and adverse events?

     · Do you have big plans to help all children learn through play? And by all, we mean all.

       That includes equal access to education for girls, equal access for children with disabilities and equal access

       for neurodiverse children who may need extra support.

     We want breakthrough ideas that connect with and can be integrated across systems and sectors, that are contextually relevant

     and that resonate within the communities who will ultimately own and sustain them.

   - Registration Deadline : April 7, 2022

    · Before submitting an application, your organization must register by Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. United States Central Time. 

      Only registrants can submit an application.

   - Application Deadline : May 17, 2022

    · Once registration has closed, registrants will have five weeks to submit their applications.

      All applications are due by Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 4:00 PM United States Central Time.

   - Administrative Review : May 18 – June 8, 2022

    · Over a period of several weeks, staff will review each application to ensure that it complies with the requirements and rules. 

   - Evaluation Panel Review : June – July 2022

    · During this period, members of the Evaluation Panel will review and score their assigned submissions using the scoring rubric. 

   - Selection of Finalists : July – August 2022

    · Informed by the results of the Evaluation Panel, up to 10 finalists will be chosen. A shortlist of applicants may be asked to provide

      additional information about their proposals and organization during this period. 

   - Project Development : September – October 2022

   · Finalists will work with LEGO Foundation and advisors to develop their proposals before award selection.

      Finalists will each receive a planning grant of DKK 6.5 million.

   - Award Announcement : December 2022

   · Selecting from the finalist organizations, LEGO Foundation will provide at least three awards of DKK 200 million

     (approx. USD 30 million) each and two more awards of DKK 100 million (approx. USD 15 million) each.  

   - Technical Assistance : December 2022 – March 2023

   · Finalists will receive additional intensive technical assistance to strengthen their projects in topics such as strategy and

     theory of change; monitoring, evaluation, and learning; diversity, equity, and inclusion; accessibility; and more.

   - We’re looking for applications from NGOs, not-for-profits, research organisations and for-profits from around the world.

     And you don’t have to enter as a single group or organisation.

     In fact, we’d love you to team up across organisations and sectors to drive more impactful and sustainable results.

     Once you complete registration, you will receive a confirmation email containing a unique registration code and

     a private link to the Build A World of Play main application.

   - If you have already registered, you can sign into your Submittable account at manager.submittable.com/login.

     Once signed in, you can access and continue your Build A World of Play main application.

○ 시상내역

   - Our panel of expert reviewers will help us choose up to ten finalists in September 2022.

     We’ll give each finalist 6.5 million DKK (approx. 1 million USD) to strengthen their plans and lay the groundwork for their big ideas.

     Selecting from amongst the finalist organisations, we’ll announce up to five awards by the end of 2022.

     And we’ll give three grants of 200 million DKK each (approx. 30 million USD each) and two more awards of 100m DKK each.
